Getting the Fever for Buck Season and some Old Skills

Buck season or really just deer season in general has filled my mind these past few weeks. Seems I can think of nothing else. I am very excited about using my new CVA Wolf 50 cal inline muzzle loader for the first time. Muzzle loader hunting and shooting are all new to me and I have been doing all the reading and research I can and have fallen in love with it so far. I know that love will be even stronger when I take a deer.

I ordered a book from amazon that has taught me so much and made me really think about the importance of taking an animal. The book is titled " Primitive Technology II Ancestral Skills". In our lives today hunting is mostly done for sport and nothing more. The importance of taking an animal for food, clothing and tools is an idea and way of life that many have forgotten. This book re-teaches these skills, because what was once a way of life and a skill that was used daily has been lost to so many of us, myself included. I have really enjoyed learning all the "new to me" skills taught in this book and would recommend it to everyone that has an interest in learning these all important skills.

You may remember a few posts back I posted pics of the wonderful gift that was given me by my friend and fellow blogger and prepper, YeOldFurt. He send me some pants made by brain tanning the hide of an animal taken during hunting season. YeOldFurt also has a very good article that can be found here about how this process works.

If I am lucky enough to take a deer this season I will use it all to the best of my ability. I will brain tan the hide, use the bones to make some tools and will of course eat the meat. This is the way to honor the animal that gave its life that you may prosper. It has given its life that you may have food to eat, clothes to wear and tools with which to work with. Honor that animal for its sacrifice and you will be rewarded.

A tale of two good men

First let me start at the beginning of this story. I was reading YeOldFurts blog some weeks back and there was a post and a picture of him in his Mountain Man gear. I just fell in love with this post and the idea of the Mountain Man life. I left him a comment and ask if there were any Mountain Man clubs or get togethers in my area that he was aware of. He was good enough to send me a link to put me on the right path. I was very grateful for his help. A week or so later he sent me another email to say that he was parting with some or his Mountain Man gear and had some that he wanted me to have. He said that he had few things that he thought that I would like and appreciate and he would be glad to send them to me. I was very happy to hear that this "good man" was willing to pass some things my way. I thought there may be a beaded necklace or a pouch or something like that in the package that was coming my way. Boy, was I ever surprised when I open the package.

The first thing I took out of the package was these handmade pants. These are leather from a deer that YeOldFurt killed himself I'm sure, and tanned himself too. He also took the time to hand make these with great detail. Just look at the workmanship, amazing. Bone and wooden buttons and all the great fringes too.

Sorry to say that these don't really fit me just right. YeOldFurt tells me that they can be altered if needed. I will no doubt have to kill a few more deer and Tan those hides to have enough material to make them fit over my big butt. But I do just that if need be. These things are so soft you just can believe it.

The next thing that came from the box was this unbelievable knife. Hand made by a friend of YeOldFurts, Dan. "Good man #2 in this story" This was the last knife that Dan made before his death. Dan went out on a hunt in the fall of '79 and they found him dead in his tree stand that evening. Dan was buried in his full buckskins with his own personal rifle, hawk and knife. Dan's widow, Myra, made the sheath as well as done all the bead work on it. You really have to see it to appreciate it in it's full glory. I have never seen anything like it, ever. Myra didn't last two years after Dans passing. They both left behind beautiful works of art for us all to enjoy and I am thankful for them though I never knew either one.

Next out of the box was this amazing hawk. Back in the day, YeOldFurt must have been a real hand with this hawk. He used it during competitions at Mountain Man rendezvous and was able to hit a playing card with it. A true art in and of itself. Just try to throw one and you will see what I mean. It fits so good in my hand and I feel as though I am shaking hands with YeOldFurt each time I grap hold of it's handle.

I'm sure you can imagine just how surprised I was when I open this package from a very good man and one that I am honored to call friend. I am also honored to have received this items and will treasure them all of my days. When the time comes to pass these on, as YeOldFurt did, they will take with them the story of Dan and Myra and the one that passed them on to me. Words just can't explain how honored I am to have them and how thankful I am to YeOleFurt for choosing me as their new owner. I am humbled by this act of kindness and will forever carry with me the story of all previous owners. Thank you more than you will ever know, my friend, YeOldFurt.

Just when you think there is no good left in the world something like this happens to knock you off guard. An act to kindness out of the blue from someone you have never even met. Gives me hope for mankind once again. This tale of two good men, YeOldFurt and Dan, should give us all a knew outlook on life, sharing and friendship. It sure has for me.

Breakfast with a friend

My good friend Tom, who until today I had only known through the Internet, from American Preppers Network came by my way last night. He called yesterday to let me know that he would be in my town and we made plans to meet this morning for breakfast. Tom is a Trucker and never really knows where his job and his truck may take him. At 8:00 am this morning we got to meet face to face for the very first time. It was great to finally put a face with the emails and the yahoo chat. lol We enjoyed a great breakfast Cracker Barrel style and talked about the future of APN. Tom really impressed me with his dedication to this network and was always talking about new ways to reach people to let them know about APN and the information that they could find there. He made me even more happy to be a small part of the prepper movement that is spreading like a wild fire across the globe. There are plans to recruit new members that will be contributing to the state prepper networks so we can provide even more information that appeals to preppers. More members would also mean that the work of the blogs would be spread out a little more too. More people = less work for any one person. After about 2 hours Tom had to get on the road again and we parted ways. It was good to have met this new friend and it was all because of the American Preppers Network and the friendships that are to be found there. Good people that just want to get to know other like minded individuals and help all those that they can. Be sure to check out American Preppers Network and the Prepper Networks in your state too.

Swine Flu Pandemic has it's own Blog now

I'm not really the guy to come to for Swine Flu news but I can direct you to the latest and greatest info that can be found on the net. Swine Flu Pandemic is a new blog started by a good friend on mine and I encourage you all to check it out. I have a few supplies added to Bullseye's Survival Gear Store that you may be interested in as we continue to prep for this latest enemy that has now shown it's ugly face. Be sure to check them out on my new side bar widget. I have ordered gas masks for the whole family now and suggest you get some if you can. We can never be too safe.

Made a little progress

First and foremost I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and advice on my last post. You all mean so much to me and I appreciate all your efforts to help. And for those of you that did not comment but send emails instead, you know who you are, thank you very much. We went out to diner this evening and then rented a few movies and had a quite night at home by ourselves, it was nice. We watched "Body of Lies"...great movie. Watch it if you can and then we watched "Fireproof". I would recommend Fireproof to any of you that are married or in a relationship. Just watch it, all of it. It's not really my kind of movie but I committed myself to watching it whatever it was and not laugh or make fun of it. I really enjoyed it and came away with a different outlook on the situation. Get it....watch it.....you'll be touched by it I promise. Funny thing is that this movie was recommended in a comment and by Mrs. Bullseye's mother today too. Guess some folks can see the writing on the wall here at Camp Bullseye. LOL Anyway, today was not as bad as others have been and I have hope. Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

Well, that does it, NO MORE MR. NICE GUY !!! Ol' sammy obammy has just given up the SOVEREIGNTY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the G20 Conference.

Moving as quickly as he can to gut the USA and then divide its body parts amongst like-minded globalists, the USA’s Supreme Leader Barack Hussein Obama used the G-20 conference to begin his turnover of USA sovereignty to said internationalists and start the move toward a one-world government. Obama has signed off on international legislation—the Financial Stability Board—that would regulate ALL firms, including those within the USA and places them under the responsibility of an international governmental agency.

Can you even believe this?? I got it from The Old Fart, mmmm I mean Ye Old Furt ( Sorry ) who got it here. Thanks, Furt.

The stage is now set for the World Bank that the Bilderberg Group (aka. Fed Reserve, aka. Leaders of the NWO, or as I like to call them,"The Sons of Satan") has been planning for years. Day after day the NWO advances it agenda with ol' sammy paving the way and day after day the FREEDOM of AMERICANS withers away.

The Bank Bailout money was a big part of all this. That money was forced on these banks, whether they wanted it or not, with new government restrictions in place. Now that that is done and obammy just signed off on International Legislation regulating all firms, especially banks, the New World Bank can now be put into place to oversee all that goes on. And not just the banks either, all firms are now placed under the responsibility of an international governmental agency. ALL FIRMS !!!

Well, from this day forward I devote my life even more than ever to fighting the New World Order, no more Mr. Nice Guy either. I will pull no punches when it comes to defending my freedom and yours. I will rip, jab and poke at every opening in their organization. I will search like I have never searched before to bring you the newest developments in their plan to rule you and I and the rest of the World. This is going to get nasty, real nasty. I'll be a bird dog sniffing out their trail of destruction. I will fight to the last breath. They may kill me but I will lie in a pile of spent brass from my carbine, the sweet smell of gun smoke will linger around my body. I have had enough, too much even. I'm ready for battle.
