Yep, you read it right, I said trash bag. I keep several cheap trash bags in my BOB and a few in each of my vehicles. I was going to list all the uses for a trash bag in a survival situation when I found this link. Who would have guessed that a trash bag could be so useful. If you are reading this you are most likely a Survivalist, Prepper or at least someone who is interested in surviving. Take a look at the link and you will be surprised at what can be done with the Lowly Garbage Bag.

...got a few boxes of each size put away,i like the glad drawstring kind, hefty seems to tear alot at the tiedown...don't forget yer duct tape, you can make a city...
I was kinda thinking, given the title and all, I'd learn how to sanitarily scarf a left-half of a cheezy wheezer from the Cafe's dumpster.
Maybe next post, eh, Bulls? EH??
Seriouly/ pay the extra $ and get some of the hefty construction grade bags-- about $14.00
But that, and $4 for duct tape and Ken has a good point-- a circus-grade tent for less than a vinnie...
Only you would talk about trash and make it interesting so that I have to print it out! Thx Bull!
When I was in the boy scouts we would pack lite and take 2 drum liner trash bags and make "bivy" tents out of em. Slept in rain and snow and stayed dry.. makes great improvised ponchos too.
Ken, these things are good for some many reasons. Always got my duct tape..always.. Thank ya brother.
Cygnus, may try to get some better grade bags, be a lot better in the long run for sure, thanks brother.
Big E, my pistol packin mamma, glad you found this useful. Some good stuff really. Thanks a bunch.
FarmerMechanic, that sounds great man. I have a link somewhere with some pictures of a trash bag tent, it is pretty nice. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon.
Ok- I am embarrassed as it may seem as if I only think of growing things, but I have grown potatoes over the winter in heavy black garbage bags. When I was ready to harvest, I cut the bag and the potatoes and soil spilled out!
Great link by the way, I need to broaden myself on using things for more than the garden!lol

Jennifer, sorry, I just seen your comment. That is a great idea growing food in them too, would have never though of that one.
