Uneasy Feeling

I've had a very uneasy feeling the last few days. Almost as if time is running out on me. The collapse is just around the corner and getting closer by the second and there is still much to be done. I can hardly sleep at night for worrying about the things that still need to be done. I am FAR ahead of most in the prep department but far behind where I want to be. Maybe that's best, that I worry, keeps me on my toes and always planning for the future.

Food storage is in good shape. Garden is on hold a bit longer, still too wet to plant anything else right now but I have all my seed and am ready when it dries up. Guns and ammo are good, of course I always want more but I am in real good shape. Been putting back some silver and gold a little at a time for quite a while. Mostly coins and jewelry. I buy some gold jewelry at the flea market and yard sales for pennies on the dollar, silver too. I hardly ever pay more than 5 or 10 dollars for 14 and 18 k. gold rings, necklaces and bracelets. Silver, far less than that. Home security gets an A+, and that's by my standards which are very strict. One thing I have found myself lacking in is alternate power. That's next on the list.

This will be my next purchase in the prep department. A 45 watt Solar Panel Power Lighting System Kit from ebay. Not really a whole house system by any means but it's a start. I always go back to the saying that anything is better than nothing. That's the case here, I just want something that I can build on. Here's a video on the panels.

These panels will be useful in many ways. I plan on installing them on my work shop/ junk building and experimenting some with them. I still have some ideas for micro hydro using the overflow from my pond too. A combination of the 2 may be something with possibilities. We'll have to wait and see. Anyway, keep on prepping and try to get all you can NOW !! I have and uneasy felling that time is running out on us all.

Take it easy. Everything will work out. It may not work out the way you want it to, but it will work out. You just have to do the best you can.

check out the harbor freight offerings...I'm very interested in a 100 watt panel system I saw there...good bang for the buck...they are stocking more inverters and charge controllers...the batteries are gonna be a tough go though... I'm using some deep cycle gel cells that go for about ninety per...they are the same one used in personal mobility scooters and I'm way impressed by their longevity...soon I'll be back to using a forklift battery pack for the yurt if I can swing it.... another good item is a 500 watt savonious design like Ed Begley installed on his house.
I'm not always impressed by his greenness, but his sense in picking out the wind turbine is excellent.

Be sure to give DRAGON'S site (archive if necessary) a loo-see for inexpensive, do-it-yourself alternative electric... can't recommend his beta highly enough.

You're ready, Bullseye my brotherman...

I've been watching the prices at Harbor Freight lately as well, and the prices are holding good on their solar stuff.

The unit you have on the video is running on the video is currently priced at $199 and since I have one of there stores close by, I can go and pick it up ...NO FREIGHT!

Appreciate the post, my man!

Yeah, my "heebie jeebie" meter is creepin' up. Mostly because of all the loose socialist talk (and action!) from Obammy Inc., and the deafening silence of America at large.... In a word, we're screwed....

Hey Bull - we have been looking at this very set-up at Harbor Town Freight - about the same price since u have to pay shipping of $45 from ebay. Go check it out - pretty cool.

Hang in there - we are not where we want to be as far as preps go either - broke right now - but we have more than most and can survive! You are about in the same place as we are so you are doing well. Take deep breaths - can't change history! LOL!

Bitmap, trying to cool off a bit. Sometimes I feel like the walls are crashing down on me man. Doing the best and the most I can.

AP, True, never enough of either.

Matt, thanks and will do bud.

Dragon, I'll be checking them out, thanks. I see a lot of people using golf cart batteries from Sam's Club. Sorta what I had in mind but I'm open to suggestions always from folks in the know.

Cygnus, thanks man, been pokin around over there trying to learn from the master. Thanks brother.

Team Hall, that's a big 10-4, know the feeling. On solar ovens, I did build one but not really as good as it could have been. I'd hate to buy one (I'm a bit of a tight ass) May try making one again. Thanks a bunch.

Uncle Jim, would love to have a store near me, I love their website. I know you have some off-grid plans of your own, car to share?? Thanks for the visit my friend.

Mayberry, so true man. This quite scares the hell out of me buddy. Calm before the storm?? Maybe.

Big E, thanks for the support, appreciate it. I know you guys are just like me, always thinking of other things that we need to have in place. Just do all we can I guess. I know we can't change history but....By God I'm ready to make some. lol

...know what ya mean Brother,my spidey sense hasn't stopped tingling...

...a friend told me some time ago..."in an ambush,if you run,you die!...if you seek cover, you die!...if you go to ground, you die!...Attack with everything you got,if you attack, you may live!"

...here's to waiting on 'the' ambush...
