The Childs BOB Survival Pal for kids

In my last post we talked about BOB's (Bug Out Bags) and what we had in them. My question was, do I need a stove or not. I am happy to say that you all gave me a lot of good options and opinions on BOB stoves. I thank you all for taking time to comment and leave me your suggestions and letting me know what's in your BOB. One of the comments was from Team Hall and really got me to thinking about BOB's for the whole family. It is recommended to have one for each member of the family. Here is Team Hall's comment,
"Okay now for the female portion of the comments...lol I can't think about "just me" and bugging out...there are 2 little people who depend on me. And one of those little people will still want a hot milk on demand. Until I can come up with a different solution I have to pack extra gear like that."
Thank you Team Hall for that comment. That comment gave me the inspiration for this post on BOB's for the kids. If any of you have small children preparedness takes on a whole new meaning and attitude. Not only do we have to keep ourselves alive and well but we have to make sure that our children are safe as well. Me personally, if my kids don't make, there's no use for me to make any longer. I can not live without them nor will I. That is why I do all I can to insure their safety. It is my job to keep us all alive and well. Serious business.

My wife took care of the "hot milk on demand" the old fashioned way when our little ones were that age.

Mom and Dad should add spare undies and a copy of a favorite toy or stuffed animal to the kit.

Great post, and very important to have gear for the kiddos. Even though I gave our kids "hot milk on demand the old fashioned way", I made sure to have formula/baby cereal/etc in our kits in case something were to happen to me. Also you can fit lots of diapers in a smaller space using a vacuum packer :) Make sure to add a change of clothes also (you know they'll need it!)

Angela, very good idea. I have a foodsaver that could really save me some room in the kids BOB's. I could vacum seal some extra clothes and it would not take up much space at all.

Thank you for your comment and the idea, come back soon.
